Arthur De Laforcade is a multidisciplinary artist whose rich and varied artistic career testifies to his passion for art in all its forms. Born in France, he began his artistic career on the streets of Paris, exploring the world of graffiti under the name DISTIK in 1997. Over the years, he developed his own style, mixing influences from graffiti, abstract expressionism, contemporary Chinese art and African art.

After spending several years in Cotonou, Benin, where he worked as an illustrator and taught graffiti to children at the Zinsou Foundation, Arthur broadened his horizons by traveling throughout Asia and Oceania. Based in Brisbane since 2019, he explores new artistic techniques and mediums, drawing inspiration from the urban landscapes and human interactions that surround him.

Arthur works primarily from photographs he takes himself, capturing moments of everyday life and urban landscapes that inspire him. At the same time, he also explores automatic writing as a source of inspiration, tapping into his subconscious to create works full of emotion and spontaneity.

During his career, Arthur had several notable achievements, including the sale of his paintings and exhibitions in galleries such as the Crearts gallery in Caen, France. Currently, he is preparing for an artistic performance at the United Tropical Residency in Bali, scheduled for April 25, 2024. This performance promises to be a landmark event, where Arthur will be able to fully express his artistic vision and captivate the audience with his talent and his creativity.

Through his work, Arthur seeks to capture the energy and vitality of the world around him, inviting the viewer to reflect on the complexities of the human condition and contemporary society. His commitment to his art and his ability to continually innovate make him a promising emerging artist, whose work continues to inspire and surprise.
